Call me Mike

I am 29 years old born in Germany. I graduated Brighton High School in Michigan 2003. I am the Second oldest out of my siblings. The oldest is Daniela, Then my brother David and my youngest sister Elizabeth. I had a another sister which passed away when she was 4 when i was 6. I joined the Army for Active service and went to my specialty school for Infantryman. I served 10 years in active service been deployed 4 times, 2 times in Iraq and 2 times in Afghanistan. I achieved many awards for my service and achieved a rare expert infantryman badge which is awarded based on a skills test to expert in your job. My career in the military was cut short when i would be medical discharged out of the army last year. I saw, heard and smelled all what you may think war is. I have a outgoing personality and take working in time strict environments and will achieve. I have went back to the fork down the road when i was 18 this time to go to college. I wasn’t ready for college i still wanted to know more about life and living. I learned alot about living and seeing the glass from the outside in .I have achieved the ability to understand and how to become more motivated and goal driven. I like to think i have a humor about me which i am sure some or all will see. I can at times speak open minded and really become a critical thinker and using how to problem solve situations. I was told once i like to use a down to earth smartness to achieve something without letting many know. not really sure if i know what that means, so i will just kind of let others see for themselves.I am a first generation in my family and out of my brothers and my sisters to go to college. I plan on become a Radiology technologies degree.

My goals are:

1. To further My english skills in the classrooms and outside the classrooms

2. To not give into excuses and procrastinate any assignments or papers

3. to not allow myself to become stressed and be relax and smile

4. Work hard on all my classes and future classes to achieve the ultimate goal of receiving my Associate degree for Radiology Technologies

  1. Good for you Mike! I’m an active Army retiree myself (1SG). I too went back to the fork I found at 18 too and have just completed an MS in psychology. It’s all about sticking to your goals and the Army, from what I can tell, has prepared you well. Personally, I found while going to distance education classes that it was more effective for me to plan on turning assignments in a day earlier than my peers. This pressured me to get it done and, if something got in the way it left me a day to recover.
